Turbans are worn commonly by men in the Northern part of Nigeria and can come in various colours with white being the commonest colour. During festivals like the Durbar festival.

They dress colourfully and mount colourfully dressed horses and walk down the streets. I have never personally been to a Durbar festival but it's a major event in Nigeria.

Quite interestingly these turbans are becoming a big fashion trend for a lot of women who wear them as hats.

I have seen some made from great fabric even feathers but I can never seem to understand why they are considered fashionable. And they cost quite a fortune.
