African Drums: Oil Painting Demo Step 5
Welcome to the Step 5 of the Oil Painting Demo of African Drums.
These are drums that were used by an African Dance group during my Traditional Marriage ceremony in Nigeria. I was taken in by the beauty and versatility of the African Drums that I could not help but paint them.
I focused on the drums today. Adding more highlights and depth here and there to give it a more solid shape.
For some reason, African Drums are secured with rubber ropes/strands (yet to understand why they do that!!!).
To paint the ropes I used a mixture of Burnt Umber and Alizarin Crimson to put in the strands.
